one by one, they step onto the gutter grate.
one by one, they fall down into the gutter drain below.
a teenager with ruddy hair hadn't been watching, but when he comes across the mama duck staring down at the gutter with a perplexed expression, he thinks he gets the gist of it. above, it begins to rain.
he opens up his umbrella, and holds it out over both himself and the perplexed duck. pop goes his bubblegum as he stares down at the drain contemplatively.
it's not a very optimistic look. ]
Ahh... as tumblr would say, 'these ducks are in desperate need of a happy ending'...
Something like that?
[ the mama duck quacks incomprehensibly. the first raindrops hit the umbrella in a myriad of patters. it has begun to pour. ]
... hi yun...
Not too sure who 'tumblr is', but then maybe we should give them one?
at least pretend you're surprised
[ do you really... it's a gutter. ]
OH MY
wao so obvious try again :T
But hey, who am I to question tumblr? If you wanna get your hands dirty, be my guest.
OH MY GOD!!

... Okay, but he's never seen a place quite like this.
In fact, it's rather...well, grim. It looks like a kingdom that was one the wrong side of a war, and then on the wrong side of time. It's quiet, and... broken. He knows immediately that he doesn't like it, but peering back over his shoulder reveals more of the same.
Which is. Okay. Wait.]
...That's strange.
[At least he wasn't traveling with Zen for once; this was a solo mission, and so he isn't too concerned to find himself alone. But he could have sworn he was traveling through a forest not five minutes ago.]
... buries face in hands
—Which is why Fujimaru doesn't hesitate to point his gun/launcher/thing at Mitsuhide.]
Who the hell are you?
/pat pat
At the first sign of a threat, Mitsuhide does the knightly thing and prepares for battle--
Okay no he doesn't, he raises his hands with a sheepish smile and looks as nonthreatening as possible.]
My name is Mitsuhide. Who are you?
let me take out the TRASH for you
Call me, beep me, if you want to reach me BUT THEY'RE AT THE AMUSEMENT PARK UNTIL TOLD OTHERWISE!!!
Shiro went to check out something that's probably important (and of course Himi and Yousuke went with). Kiri went to buy some ice cream and just never came back. Well, it is summer so she probably just got caught up in the line... But it's been at least twenty minutes. No, it must have been more than half an hour.
So now it's just Gunjou and Shinnosuke, standing by all these rides and not riding any of them. One of them was dragged here against their own will and another also dragged here (but not really against their own will). Can you guess which one?
Yeah. Is this like karaoke again? Probably. ]
Hey... they're taking a long time, aren't they?
[ This is so bothersome.
She just wants to go and play.]hehe
... Actually, that's a pointless question. He knows very well why he's here, and the reasons start with the name of every single one of his companions except the girl here with him right now.
(Note to self: definitely kill Shiro and the others the next time they're in a labyrinth, damn it...).]
Yeah, and for your sake, I hope you're good at entertaining yourself.
[Because if the others aren't coming back anytime soon, this is the perfect time to leave. Of course, without a spell, he can't do it quite as quickly, and there's the possibility of Gunjou stabbing him in the back, but this isn't like karaoke. Escape is within his reach—
And so he's moving to walk away, yep.]
(/w\)
[ She calls out immediately, despite the fact that she has absolutely no idea what to say next. The great genius Gunjou admitting she might want to stick around for just a few more minutes? Pish posh! But she better think fast if she wants him to stay, otherwise she'll just look stupid walking around alone. RIGHT!
SHE POINTS TO THE CLIMAX OF THE ROLLER COASTER. It's the perfect disguise, topped off with screaming currently ringing out from the people about to slowly make it to the top. ]
I challenge you to go on that roller coaster with me! ... L-Listen, not everyone is brave enough to go on. It's the highest roller coaster in the world to date. [ A TEST OF COURAGE. THAT SHOULD BE A GOOD EXCUSE, RIGHT? By now the people on the ride are zooming down and the screaming is loud and persistent. Very scary.
Actually, wait. Why would she know something like that? ] For someone like you it should be no problem, right?
no subject
NAMELY BECAUSE HE'S GOING TO GOAD HER INTO NOT DOING IT FIRST.]
Should the amazing genius Mizuiro Gunjou, who's at the top of the class with twenty sponsors, really be wasting her time with trifling matters like these?
no subject
[ He has a point, but she has to press on if she wants to get her way.
YOU'RE NOT GOING TO WIN, SHINNOSUKE! ]
Anyways, who do you think I am? [ PUFFS UP PROUDLY. ] I wouldn't be asking if it wasn't important. It can't be helped, we can only train in this way while we're here. Next we'll go to the Haunted House to build up awareness too!

you know who :D
It's a trial, getting herself out of the apartment, and up the ramps until she's finally out of the sink hole that houses the apartment buildings now, but she eventually does it. She heads for the river, wanting some distance between herself and everyone else right now, except she doesn't make it there. The wheelchair catches on some dip in the ground, and before she knows it, she's tumbling out of the seat. Great. Just what she needed to make the day even better.
All of her frustration boils up now, left over from her unsuccessful therapy sessions with Katara. Everything feels pointless right now. How would she even be able to fight against Yao with her friends if she can't even take a simple step on her own?
Feeling helpless, Korra just sits there, face buried in her hands.]
i hate you even if i agreed to this
The last thing he thought he'd see is Korra by a wheelchair, on the ground.]
Korra—!? [Shock written all over his face, he runs over to her.] What the hell happened?
[About... all of this, frankly.]
:D
It's fine. [She doesn't look at him, doesn't dare to meet his gaze.] I just... woke up with new memories, that's all.

Once she's close enough, she can see what the messenger had meant. The portal, normally a ethereal sort of gold, keeps shifting between its usual color to something more like an alarming red every so often. Korra stops beside it, hesitant to touch it, in case something should go wrong.]
What's going on...?
no subject
It's probably just as well that he misses Korra's question as he's unceremoniously dumped out of the portal, looking disoriented.]
What the hell...!?

Finally, a name slips from her lips, though she's too confused herself to understand where it even came from.]
...Fujimaru?

And though his memories haven't quite caught up with him yet, he knows that face, somehow.]

i'm here for seiya
saploserbushy-tailed and bright-eyed youngster is here to help out.(He's never going to get paid, and he has no idea what he's in for.)
In fact, there were other volunteers...but after taking a look at the park, they seemed to have decided to exit stage left, and so...it's just Minato.
Standing all alone.
With a broom that someone in a mascot suit gave him??? He's rolling with it.
So yeah...say hi to your new "volunteers", Seiya.]
no subject
(Also yeah sorry Minato, they're too broke to pay you.)
Still, he should try and refrain from scaring the newbie, and with Sento and Moffle absent at the moment, now's the perfect chance to pretend that there are, in fact, reasonable people on staff. Said group of reasonable people consists mainly of him, but details.
So, 'sup, Minato. Your manager approaches! Be honoured, he took a moment out of his busy day to grace you with his presence—]
Ah, you're the new guy? Thanks for your work. [...] Arisato Minato, right?
no subject
It's a little awkward, considering he's the only one here when there should be some other people, but Minato takes it in stride; he nods, one hand in his pocket casually, acceptingly.]
That's right.
[He tilts his head, thoughtful and questioning; he's gotten a lot of names in a very short period of time, so he can't be 100% sure he knows this guy's name either.]
It's nice to meet you.
no subject
Placing his hands on his hips, Seiya looks around, because guess who hasn't been informed about EVERYONE ELSE BAILING yet.]
I thought you were part of a batch, though... Do you know where everyone else is? They aren't bullying you, are they?
