one by one, they step onto the gutter grate.
one by one, they fall down into the gutter drain below.
a teenager with ruddy hair hadn't been watching, but when he comes across the mama duck staring down at the gutter with a perplexed expression, he thinks he gets the gist of it. above, it begins to rain.
he opens up his umbrella, and holds it out over both himself and the perplexed duck. pop goes his bubblegum as he stares down at the drain contemplatively.
it's not a very optimistic look. ]
Ahh... as tumblr would say, 'these ducks are in desperate need of a happy ending'...
Something like that?
[ the mama duck quacks incomprehensibly. the first raindrops hit the umbrella in a myriad of patters. it has begun to pour. ]

... Okay, but he's never seen a place quite like this.
In fact, it's rather...well, grim. It looks like a kingdom that was one the wrong side of a war, and then on the wrong side of time. It's quiet, and... broken. He knows immediately that he doesn't like it, but peering back over his shoulder reveals more of the same.
Which is. Okay. Wait.]
...That's strange.
[At least he wasn't traveling with Zen for once; this was a solo mission, and so he isn't too concerned to find himself alone. But he could have sworn he was traveling through a forest not five minutes ago.]
... buries face in hands

let me take out the TRASH for you
Call me, beep me, if you want to reach me BUT THEY'RE AT THE AMUSEMENT PARK UNTIL TOLD OTHERWISE!!!
Shiro went to check out something that's probably important (and of course Himi and Yousuke went with). Kiri went to buy some ice cream and just never came back. Well, it is summer so she probably just got caught up in the line... But it's been at least twenty minutes. No, it must have been more than half an hour.
So now it's just Gunjou and Shinnosuke, standing by all these rides and not riding any of them. One of them was dragged here against their own will and another also dragged here (but not really against their own will). Can you guess which one?
Yeah. Is this like karaoke again? Probably. ]
Hey... they're taking a long time, aren't they?
[ This is so bothersome.
She just wants to go and play.]hehe

you know who :D
It's a trial, getting herself out of the apartment, and up the ramps until she's finally out of the sink hole that houses the apartment buildings now, but she eventually does it. She heads for the river, wanting some distance between herself and everyone else right now, except she doesn't make it there. The wheelchair catches on some dip in the ground, and before she knows it, she's tumbling out of the seat. Great. Just what she needed to make the day even better.
All of her frustration boils up now, left over from her unsuccessful therapy sessions with Katara. Everything feels pointless right now. How would she even be able to fight against Yao with her friends if she can't even take a simple step on her own?
Feeling helpless, Korra just sits there, face buried in her hands.]
i hate you even if i agreed to this

Once she's close enough, she can see what the messenger had meant. The portal, normally a ethereal sort of gold, keeps shifting between its usual color to something more like an alarming red every so often. Korra stops beside it, hesitant to touch it, in case something should go wrong.]

i'm here for seiya
saploserbushy-tailed and bright-eyed youngster is here to help out.(He's never going to get paid, and he has no idea what he's in for.)
In fact, there were other volunteers...but after taking a look at the park, they seemed to have decided to exit stage left, and so...it's just Minato.
Standing all alone.
With a broom that someone in a mascot suit gave him??? He's rolling with it.
So yeah...say hi to your new "volunteers", Seiya.]
