["What's going on" is something that Fujimaru would very much like to know. He was just minding his own business, and then bam (thankfully not literally, which is probably a clarification that needs to be made in his life).

It's probably just as well that he misses Korra's question as he's unceremoniously dumped out of the portal, looking disoriented.]

What the hell...!?

[She stares at him, frozen in place. There's two sets of memories warring inside her mind right now--one in which she's certain she's never seen him before, and the other that says she knows him.

Finally, a name slips from her lips, though she's too confused herself to understand where it even came from.]

...Fujimaru?

[afflictive]

[Trying to regain his bearings, Fujimaru almost misses the voice. A part of his mind catches it, though, at which point his head snaps up to look at the girl.

And though his memories haven't quite caught up with him yet, he knows that face, somehow.]

... Korra?

[braavado]

[No way, she thinks. But he's looking at her, and Korra thinks if she reaches out to help him, his hand will feel solid in hers

So she does just that.]

I don't--what are you doing here? [Korra shakes her head, realizing there's more to this than she'd even thought, now that her memories of Haven are returning.] I thought we weren't supposed to remember anything after we left that place.

[afflictive]

[Korra looks different (shorter hair, he notes), and similarly, Fujimaru probably looks a bit different than what Korra remembers. The goggles are gone, and he doesn't wear his hair in a ponytail anymore. And, well, the protector he always wore over his right arm is gone now, with Fujimaru looking uncharacteristically normal—were it not for the way his right 'hand' ends in a bandaged stump.]

I don't know! I was just doing my thing and then suddenly I'm being dumped in this place! I've got no idea what the hell is going on...

[braavado]

[True to form, the sight of the bandages jolts her into motion. She's leaning over and frowning at the stump--hadn't this been the arm with the wires? What had happened?]

Are you hurt? Or is it an old wound?

[Though most of her focus is on the arm, her eyes rove over him now, taking in all the changes.]

[The questions provoke something strangely nostalgic in him, and it takes him a few moments to understand why—right, Korra was prone to worrying like this, wasn't she...?

It's not as if he doesn't have other friends to fret over him, but there's something about receiving it from someone that, frankly, he should never have met again in his lifetime that almost makes him want to smile.]

... I'm fine. A lot's happened. [...] You cut your hair.

[braavado]

[With the memories settling back in, taking away most of the confusion, Korra gives him a quick smile that says it all, really.]

Chopped it off with a sword. [She says, just a little too innocently. It's...a big step for her, being able to talk about the start of those 6 months of isolation so lightly, and she knows it. With a slightly more subdued tone, she adds:] Thought it would make a good change.

[She surveys him with interest again, noting that he's done something with his own hair, too.] Your wearing yours down.

[afflictive]

You would. [It fits Korra, he thinks as the memories trickle back in, to do it like that.] Hope it worked.

[While his right 'hand' remains limp at his side, he moves his left from where Korra had held it to the ends of a few strands of his own hair.]

No big reason for it. It's just harder to tie now.

[braavado]

[She gives a start, his words triggering yet more memories of Haven. This time, they're ones of a little girl--finding ribbons for her while she was in North, brushing the girl's hair, and even helping her tie the ribbons into her hair.

Korra glances hopefully at the portal behind him, which has regained its natural gold color.]

What about--Shirayuki?

[Fujimaru's expression should answer Korra's question before his words do—because a smile, an honest smile, spreads across his face.

(Another change: while he'll never be the most cheerful of people, Fujimaru is a happier person than he used to be.)]

She's doing great. She got her voice back, y'know?

[It's one of the rare moments where Fujimaru feels like he can deliver good news, and not news like, "You're being arrested" or "Everything's gone to hell," though as he reminds himself, those days are long past.

... Well, the latter could still happen, but not in a Haven context, at least.]

[braavado]

[A sigh of relief escapes her. There's no way to describe just how wonderful it is to hear that piece of news. She knows how terrible Fujimaru and Shirayuki's world is, and the thought of them going back there, even after Haven...

Korra shakes her head slightly. It doesn't matter, Fujimaru's here now and Shirayuki sounds just fine, too.]

Sounds like a lot happened. [She gives him a smile.] You look happier.

[afflictive]

[He stares for a moment, looking somewhat awkward at the statement, before he responds, a tad slowly.]

... Well, freedom does that to a person. [...] I am happier.

[He almost regrets adding that second part as soon as he says it, because talk about mushy, but... it's out there, whether he likes it or not.

Health-wise, he's worse off than he was before, but it's a small price to pay for winning.]

[braavado]

Freedom...? [Korra's brows knit together in confusion. Suddenly, it clicks and she gasps.]

You mean--the government in your world? It's gone now?

[afflictive]

[He cracks a smile at her.]

Would I be calling myself free if it weren't?

[braavado]

Hey, I'm just making sure! [But she's so pleased for him that she doesn't even bother trying to sound annoyed.

Fujimaru probably isn't expecting what happens next, but considering it's Korra... One second, she's smiling at him, the next she's throwing her arms around him in a hug.]

That's great. I'm really happy for you.

[So there's a new part-time volunteer at Amagi Brilliant Park. A new sap loser bushy-tailed and bright-eyed youngster is here to help out.

(He's never going to get paid, and he has no idea what he's in for.)

In fact, there were other volunteers...but after taking a look at the park, they seemed to have decided to exit stage left, and so...it's just Minato.

Standing all alone.

With a broom that someone in a mascot suit gave him??? He's rolling with it.

So yeah...say hi to your new "volunteers", Seiya.]

[Seiya honestly has no idea why most people would actually want to work here without first being held at gunpoint, but he's not going to be too picky about fresh meat!! It's too late for Minato to run away now...

(Also yeah sorry Minato, they're too broke to pay you.)

Still, he should try and refrain from scaring the newbie, and with Sento and Moffle absent at the moment, now's the perfect chance to pretend that there are, in fact, reasonable people on staff. Said group of reasonable people consists mainly of him, but details.

So, 'sup, Minato. Your manager approaches! Be honoured, he took a moment out of his busy day to grace you with his presence—]

Ah, you're the new guy? Thanks for your work. [...] Arisato Minato, right?

[(Thank goodness he's here for the social links and not the money.)

It's a little awkward, considering he's the only one here when there should be some other people, but Minato takes it in stride; he nods, one hand in his pocket casually, acceptingly.]

That's right.

[He tilts his head, thoughtful and questioning; he's gotten a lot of names in a very short period of time, so he can't be 100% sure he knows this guy's name either.]

It's nice to meet you.

[wtf how dare you not know his name HE'S THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON HERE!! (okay no that's probably Latifa but he can pretend)

Placing his hands on his hips, Seiya looks around, because guess who hasn't been informed about EVERYONE ELSE BAILING yet.]

I thought you were part of a batch, though... Do you know where everyone else is? They aren't bullying you, are they?

Ah...no. Probably.

[Probably???

He doesn't think they're coming back. Sorry, friendo.]

They left. [...] I don't think they're coming back.

I... see. Well, that's unfortunate. However, it just proves that only you, apparently, have the fortitude to make it here. Working for an amusement park isn't easy, you know.

After all, you have to be prepared to carry the burden of children's hopes and dreams! [Which probably sometimes died here in the past.] You have the look of someone who can handle that, though.

[Ah.... he's a little concerned when Seiya starts to laugh, but he recovers admirably. Minato almost wants to cheer him on for it? It's a great recovery, but ultimately he decides it might be a bit misunderstood and keeps it to himself.

He blinks when Seiya points dramatically at him, and then nods placidly. Probably... not completely the sort of reaction that could've been hope for after such a dramatic statement, but cut him some slack.]

Got it. [THE BURDEN OF CHILDREN'S HOPES AND DREAMS....he can do that. Probably.

For good measure he thumbs up cheesily.]

I'll do my best to make their hopes and dreams come true. [That would probably be more impressive if he wasn't so deadpan.... he can't help it though.]
