[Congrats, Morgan. You're... well, you probably have no idea where you are. Judging from the surroundings, though, it seems to be a noble's home, late at night. The hallway is mostly dark, illuminated only slightly by light coming from other rooms, the air is silent—

—and then there sure is a knife flying straight at you.]

... Knowing you, 'mostly's the best I'm gonna get, huh? Geez... Try not to poison the both of us, okay?

[intendance]

I'll try! I'll ask the people who are selling it if they're poisonous.

Don't worry, I'm a quick study!

[And she's not talking about just the grocery shopping now. She's a quick study with everything--and so she'll be fine, wandering the streets.]

[hammy]

Yeah, yeah. Try not to get kidnapped, okay?

[They're approaching the residence area of the Hidden Elites now though, with small 2-storey mansions scattered about.]

[intendance]

Don't be silly! I'm basically already kidnapped--just sort of by your world more than anything.

[is that supposed to help, Morgan--

Oh well. She's looking around with a great deal of interest, not seeming to be particularly bothered.]

[hammy]

... Don't get kidnapped by a noble, I mean. They're known for picking girls off the streets. Well, I guess with your skills, it'd be hard for anyone to kidnap you...

[intendance]

[She nods easily enough.]

I'll keep it in mind, but I should be fine. Even not using magic, I'm pretty good with a sword.

Hopefully that doesn't happen, though. I don't want to hurt anyone.

[humility is for people who aren't them.]

[hammy]

Not to mention it'd attract a lot of attention. Well, actually, you'd have the army after you for attacking or even defying a noble, so attempted kidnappings are only allowed when I'm there too, okay?

[this clearly makes sense.]

[intendance]

Okay, okay. I will only defy nobles when you're around then.

[this makes perfect sense to her.]

The rest of the time, I'll just avoid being kidnapped.

[hammy]

Make sure you stick to that!

[Aaaaaand they're here. Zohra stops in front of a mansion before taking out a key, with which he unlocks the door.

Opening it—]

Well? Ladies first.

[intendance]

I'm a lady now?

[She sounds amused, but doesn't argue, stepping forward and peering around interestedly.]

So this is where you live?

[hammy]

Not really, but you're more of a lady than I am, at least.

[The house is very obviously too large for one person—let alone a 13-year-old—to be living in alone, made all the more clearer by the general lack of decor. There's all the necessities, at least, and some generic items, but not much in the way of personal touch.]

Yeah. Feel free to take whichever room you want—well, except for mine, obviously.

[intendance]

[huff. rude.

But she's distracted by the house, so she doesn't get particularly huffy.

Oooh...]

Well, all right. Which one is your room then?

[hammy]

It's on the second floor. I guess you can just take any room on the first floor, then. Not like anyone else is living here to complain.

[intendance]

Okay! If you say so, that's fine by me.

[She'll just start wandering around, poking into empty spaces curiously.

Sure is empty up in here.]

[hammy]

[... Well, while she's doing that, he'll just be going off to get some bread to eat, because man, he's hungry now.]

[intendance]

[Morgan is just inspecting this place from top to bottom, curious and thoughtful.

It's empty. Very empty. She can tell that Zohra never really puts any thought or concern into where he's living. It might not be much of a surprise, but it's still a little sad.

All Morgan has ever known is moving around in the army, and thus never having a solid place to stay.

...Maybe when she goes to get food, she'll bring back some things to bring some life into this place too.]

[hammy]

[To be honest, Zohra has a number of reasons for not being too concerned over home decor—of which one of them Morgan hit. His home is just the place where he sleeps, makes preparations, eats, etc.

But even if that weren't the case, Zohra certainly wouldn't choose this house to be the one to personalize. Not when it's a reminder of the country's tricks and lies and how he fell for them once.

In any case, he eventually locates Morgan, holding a bread stick in each hand.]

Geez, what are you doing, coming up with a floor plan?

[intendance]

[She blinks when he finds her again, and then grins when she sees the food, lighting up quite a bit.]

I was just exploring! But oooh, yum! I'm starving.

[She hurries forward cheerfully enough, reaching for the food.

But she hasn't forgotten her resolution, and she's excited to start exploring and putting it into place. She can't do much else for Zohra, but she'll do this, and it'll be good--and maybe he will smile, like he hasn't really since they've been here in Roland.]

[hammy]

[He hands her one of the sticks, before looking around.]

Well, if you ever are under attack in here for some reason, feel free to break a window to escape. I won't mind.

[intendance]

[She takes it cheerfully, nomming on it quietly.

It thus takes her a moment to respond--]

I'll remember that, but I'll probably just go to the top of the stairs and take them down with the height advantage.

[shrug. BACK TO FOOD]

[hammy]

That works too.

[nomnom]

Though if we're talking realistically, you probably wouldn't be attacked inside the house anyway. They'd wait for you to go outside and then strike.

[intendance]

Hmm...that'd be a bit more troublesome. I'll have to think that one over.

[gotta make plans, even for things that'll never happen.

So she's just considering that thoughtfully while she takes another bite.]

[hammy]

Just remember that you're not supposed to leave the house without me, so you should be incorporating that into your strategy.

[intendance]

So basically, I'll have someone watching my back if I'm ever attacked as I leave.

That's good! Very good. We'll be fine then.

[hammy]

Right! Besides, I could totally sense them a mile away.

[A pause, before he shrugs.]

Well, on a more serious note, I do have assassins that come after me once in a while, so just be prepared. It's good training, though!
