I bet there's a way to do something similar with your magic. It's just a matter of trapping it in something that can contain magic for a long time...

Well, theoretically, magic structures could last forever as long as no one disrupts them... It's how ruins and stuff probably still have traps keeping people out. The problem is more of what, in the context of spirits, 'trapping magic' even means...
